Debra P. Klauber
Debra P. Klauber, a partner of the firm who heads the firm’s appellate practice group, focuses her practice in the areas of appellate practice and litigation support as well as insurance coverage, medical malpractice and physician credentialing issues, and commercial and employment litigation.
She attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL, receiving a bachelor’s degree in finance in 1992 and graduating cum laude from law school in 1995.
Mrs. Klauber has received distinction for her commitment and dedication. She is listed in Florida Super Lawyers Rising Stars for2009 as selected by Law & Politics magazine. Only 2.5 percent of Florida attorneys are named to the Rising Stars list.
She is admitted to The Florida Bar (1995) and is a member of the Appellate Practice and Health Law Sections of The Florida Bar. She is admitted to practice in U.S. District Court, Southern , Middle and Northern Districts of Florida; U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit; and U.S. Supreme Court.
Mrs. Klauber mentors law clerks who intern at Halizer Pettis & Schwamm. Her professional activities include participation as a former board member of the Young Lawyers Section of the Broward County Bar Association and as a member of the Appellate Section of the Broward County Bar Association. She serves the Florida Bar as a member of the statewide Appellate Court Rules Committee and as a member of a local Grievance Committee.
An active member of her community, Mrs. Klauber is an alumnus of Leadership Broward (Class of 2003-2004). She has also served as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and Women of Tomorrow, a youth mentoring partnership with the School Board of Broward County. She currently serves on the Advisory Board of the South Florida Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and as chairperson of the Great Strides walk in Fort Lauderdale.
